We
are talking about why taking time to read the Bible is valuable.
The Bible, it’s
without question the most amazing book that’s ever been written.
It is the number
one best-selling book of all time. Selling more than 5 billion copies.
But here’s what I
want you to know. The Bible is much more than a book. It’s divinely inspired by
God.
2 Timothy
3:16-17 says:
“All
Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness, so that the
servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”.
The Bible is
more than a book. It’s divinely inspired, instruction directly from God.
Not only is it
inspired by God, but it is also useful to teach us what is true, and to make us
realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong, and it
teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to
do every good work.
Before I read my
Bible, I always pray this short but very powerful prayer, “God let the words
that area written in your word, be written on my heart So that I may live them
out.”
As a believer in
Jesus, it’s important to develop a sincere, authentic, genuine, and intimate
relationship with God. A good way to do that, is to consistently read His Word.
I want to
challenge you to watch the Daily Devos throughout the week, download the free
Bible App on your phone,
and even join a group at your church. Do whatever you have to do to read God’s
Word regularly.
In the last part
of the verse Paul told Timothy that God uses his Word to prepare and equip His
people to do every good work. God is going to invite you to do some amazing
work in the Kingdom of God. As a result, let’s always take time to read the
Bible.
